“The Hulk” throws receptions and events to support green energy

Perhaps the most noble thing celebrities can do with their fame is support a global cause to raise money and awareness. Mark Ruffalo, the actor who depicted the not so gentle giant, The Hulk, in the incredibly popular movie “The Avengers” is doing just that with charity events and receptions held to raise money for global green energy. 

Empowered by Light, the organization receiving the funds from Mark Ruffalo’s events, works hard to bring renewable energy and light to developing countries that currently do not have power. The reasons behind this idea are worthwhile: If renewable energy infrastructure is installed in developing countries, they’ll never add to the carbon footprint, and stand to export one of the newest products in need by everyone: Electricity.

“I support Empowered by Light because they are bringing light and renewable energy to those who don’t yet have it, and they’re teaching whole nations that we don’t need fossil fuels to be modern,” said Ruffalo. Even before his work on the Avengers, Ruffalo was invested in important causes to help the Earth’s overall health. His fame only stands to multiply the good he does in the world.
