Republican attacks on Obama’s green energy policy are overhyped.

Two very well-funded republican groups launched advertisement assaults on Obama’s work championing green energy causes. They touted such “facts” as Obama sending billions of dollars over to other nations, creating jobs in Finland and in Mexico. The truth on the matter is that these myths were debunked over two years ago by fact checking websites. All these ads serve to do with highly emotive advertising and pictures of the homeless looking forlornly off camera is to hamper Obama’s attempts at creating a more green, environmentally friendly America.

The pettiness of short term needs like a four year election have the possible impact of causing serious harm to long term needs like ending gasoline dependency in the United States. While it certainly isn’t wrong for anyone to try and become president, they are doing so at the expense of real needs that America is facing. Attack ads have long been a political favorite in presidential elections. The problem is when causes like sustainable energy get caught in the crossfire, a petty name calling campaign starts having very real ramifications on the United States, and its potential growth.

Unfortunately, these private campaign companies work without the official endorsement of their candidate, meaning that the candidates ultimately responsible for their ads shoulder none of the blame. Considering one of their attack ads called Obama out for not taking responsibility for his energy team’s failures, the tactic republicans are currently hiding behind seem oddly coincidental.
